Disk Ninja

Privacy Policy

Updated 8 October 2026

This policy describes the current Disk Ninja desktop app and this legal website. Disk Ninja is provided by Azat Zulkarnyaev. For privacy questions or requests, contact azat.zulkarnyaev@gmail.com.

Files and disk scans

Disk Ninja reads file and folder metadata on your device to calculate disk usage and display scan results. File names, paths, and file contents are not included in the app's analytics events. Scanning and moving selected files to Trash happen on your device. Access depends on the permissions you grant through your operating system.

Usage analytics

When analytics is configured in the app build, it is enabled by default. Disk Ninja sends product usage and performance events to PostHog. These include app launches, screens viewed, actions selected, scan success or failure, scan duration, bytes scanned, volume capacity, drive type, whether a drive is removable, and cleanup counts and sizes.

Events include a randomly generated installation identifier, a session identifier, app version, platform, and distribution channel. The installation identifier is stored locally with the analytics preference. These identifiers can link events from an installation; they are not your name or email address. Disk Ninja disables PostHog's geographic lookup and person-profile creation. Network services may still receive your IP address when handling a connection.

The current release configuration uses PostHog's EU ingestion endpoint. See PostHog's privacy policy for information about that provider. The app does not include session recordings, advertising trackers, or file contents in its analytics implementation.

Support

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information or attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond and investigate your request. Please avoid sending sensitive file contents or unnecessary personal information.

This website

These pages are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The pages contain no analytics scripts, cookies, or remote fonts. Cloudflare may process technical request information, including IP addresses, to operate and secure its hosting service. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Data choices and requests

Contact us to request information about data associated with you, correction, deletion, or to object to processing. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to restrict processing, receive a portable copy, and complain to a data-protection authority. We may need information to identify the relevant records; an email address alone cannot identify installation-based analytics.

The current app does not expose an analytics switch in Settings. Contact us for assistance with the local analytics preference. Turning analytics off stops future app events; it does not itself delete events already received by a provider.

Retention and service providers

Local preferences remain on your device until removed. Analytics and support records are handled through their respective service providers. Contact us for the applicable retention periods and assistance with deletion requests. Service providers may process data outside your country; the EU analytics endpoint does not mean every service used for support or hosting operates solely within the EU.

Changes

We will update this page when the app's data handling changes. New features involving AI services or subscriptions require updated disclosures before release.
